An experienced captain and crew make it all look easy, even graceful. Poorly done ... well, I hate to admit this, but being new to boating or always being the sunbather vs. the captain, often is a form of free entertainment for my dock mates. No names mentioned but they are the ones taking bets on whether or not certain relationships will make it through the next "docking" adventure, let alone the season!
All kidding aside, it's not just about docking (which is the single greatest cause, percentage-wise, of damage to boats) but it's about the whole boating process. We will also review equipment, regulations, safety concerns, and river dynamics.
(Bring your fond memories of lesssons learned to share with your fellow boaters.)
This class will be taught by a certified DNR safety instructor. So, come join us for this popular MN DNR class offered to Watergate Marina boaters. All ages welcome - but you must be 13 years of age to obtain the certificate of completion. The certificate will help in some cases to get a discount on your boaters insurance.
But wait there's more - you may also get your dock mates together to have your very own safety class (we all know we need another reason to have a pot luck!)
